I’m 76 years old, and emigrated to Australia from Scotland aged 37… I discovered Clinique Aromatics Elixir Body Smoother whilst shopping with my 14 year old daughter at the time… and became a fervent follower.. (I used to have colleagues tell me they knew how to find me just by following the scent of my gorgeous body lotion)… then at aged 19 my daughter thought it was time to see the world, and travelled to London to work in a bar!! instead of finding the theatre background she’d trained for…. but after work one evening, sitting in a Gym change room adjacent to the showers…. Feeling ever so low… she phoned me to say a naked lady came out of the showers- and as she passed my daughter, Julie caught the beautiful scent of Aromatics Elixir - her mammy’s absolute essential…. And there and then, she broke down in tears and wanted to come home to Perth, Western Australia… and after us sending her the funds for a flight home… she did! (Not quite understanding how many years of Clinique Aromatics Body Smoother her mammy could have purchased!!)
She’s 47 years old now… happy in her final happy place working in a local hospital! I still purchase Aromatics Elixir Body Smoother, more in desperation though - because the scent has pretty much diminished to extinction… Over the years I’d had many requests from women in the street asking what beautiful light scent I was wearing… alas no longer… Aromatics Elixir smells NOTHING like it’s original scent!!! … in fact it really doesn’t smell much of anything 🥺… ANYTHING FOR A FAST BUCK? not enough savings made from the removal of the boxed packaging - they continued on to muck around with its renowned scent… and it now had barely any resemblance to its original scent!!! and in fact - I’ll be damned if I can detect a scent if any kind!!! Alas I fear my many years of loyalty have been surely tested. I personally can smell nothing of the original…. And why should its customers continue to pay out hard earned money for a lotion with little to no scent - when they could pop down to the local supermarket and buy something for $10-$15? It cost me me $78 dollars at my recent purchase in the city recently!!!!
Clinique - you had an absolute gold mine on your hands… until some flaming eejit higher up the ranks saw a better way to make fast bucks!!! You can bet your bottom dollar it wasn’t a SHE making the decision!
